To assist and support the operations of the chapter by providing technical, general business, and management knowledge and by providing resources (people and time). The Dallas Chapter Board of Governors is comprised of 5 officers and up to 20 board members.

Most Officers have previous volunteer experience serving as Officers and/or Committee Chairs/Members. And members of the Board of Governors are made up of past Chapter Presidents and CAE's/Audit Directors/ Senior Managers. Some of the attributes that make a successful leader are:

Responsibilities and Expectations of the Board Members:
There are many responsibilities and expectations of the Dallas Board Members. This helps to ensure a strong leadership that will define and promote the mission, strategic directives, and objectives of the Dallas Chapter and The IIA. Please answer the following questions:

Some specifics include reviewing and accepting the auditor’s report on the yearly financial statements, assistance in selecting and supporting the community service project, giving input to the Research Committee and approving the research project each year, and approving the strategic long range plan each year.

Yes No	Will you volunteer on committees outside of the Board? The Dallas Chapter requires many volunteers to participate on committees such as marketing, programs or registration. You and members of your organization are strongly encouraged to participate on the committee of your choosing. Some committee responsibilities are over extended periods of time, others require a larger commitment for a limited time. You may choose whatever works best for you. Your involvement on a committee ensures first hand knowledge of chapter operations and allows you to have better input.
